Tokie Rome-Taylor is a native of Atlanta, GA. She earned her B.A. in Art Education from Morris Brown College, followed by both a Master’s and Specialist from Lesley University in Curriculum and Technology. Rome-Taylor primarily works in photography, exploring themes of time, spirituality, and identity. She often integrates found objects as artifacts and conduits of memory. Her artwork has ranged from capturing African American empowerment in individuals such as Coretta Scott King, to narrative surreal portraiture. She draws inspiration and influence from an eclectic range of time periods, artists, and cultures.
