Print divided into two sections, one depicting Thomas Jefferson, and the other Martin Luther King Jr. in prison.The six serigraph series in a portfolio along with didactic text comprises a historic representation of the Declaration of Independence through the perspective of an African American woman. Ringgold collaborated with master printer and professor Curlee Raven Holton, who is also the director of the Experimental Printmaking Institute (EPI) in Easton, Pennsylvania.
