 “Shaping Legacy: Figuration in African American Art” by Hilary Pierce highlights the legacy and impact of nine Black figurative artists, including Henry Ossawa Tanner, Romare Bearden, Dox Thrash, Avel de Knight, Louis Mailou Jones, Elizabeth Catlett, Paul Keene, Laura Wheeler Waring, and Megan Lewis. PFF is featured alongside the collection of Lewis Tanner Moore, an early advisor and friend of PFF.
