In May of 2023, The Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art installed its first exhibition showcase in New York City. PFF worked with Program Producer, Linda Lees, to organize 12 panels and conversations that pair African American artists, curators, gallerists, and museum executives to discuss Black art - where it's been, where it is, and where it's going.
On June 9th, we hosted a conversation about the role of institutions in uplifting the work of African American Artists. The panel was comprised of:
Susanna Gold, Moderator: Scholar, Art Advisor, and Independent Curator
Kimberli Gant: Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum
Dianne smith: Multi-disciplinary artist and educator at Lincoln Center Institute
Brittany Webb: Evelyn and Will Kaplan Curator of Twentieth-Century Art and the John Rhoden Collection, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
